We should always live each day
Like children at play
As if it were the best
Not the same as all the rest
We should be glad to be alive
Not just struggling to survive
Find in all things something funny
Not just worrying about money
There’s no time to sit and frown
You have to paint the town
And yet sometimes we forget
All the pleasures we have yet
To sample in this life
We fill our head with strife
And tell ourselves we should –
Never thinking that we could
Or could not, if we choose
There’s so little time to lose
Because suddenly without warning
You get up as every morning
But something comes along
To remind you you’ve been wrong
The problems of yesterday
Seen from today
Are no longer worth a mention
They’re not in the same dimension
I worried about our wealth
Now all I care about’s your health
A job, a car, a flat
What’s the point of all that?
My only kind of hell
Would be if you’re not well
Yet if you’re not, don’t have a care
I will always be right there
Helping you fight the fight
Loving with all my might
Together, we belong
Together, we’re so strong
The most important thing in life
Is simply being your wife!
